Every institution, not just the graded ones. 68,747 colleges and standalone institutions from AISHE's register — what each one is, who runs it, and the university it answers to, with a NAAC grade where there is one.
Browse all collegesWhat this list covers. All 68,747 institutions on AISHE's register — 51,831 colleges that sit under a university and 16,916 standalone institutions. This section began as NAAC's register of 7,973 accredited colleges and each row carried its AISHE code, which is what let the fuller list join onto it rather than duplicate it. A college with no grade shown is one NAAC has not assessed. How we source data →
NAAC assesses a college on seven criteria and publishes one grade and one CGPA. The grade is the band the CGPA falls in.
A NAAC grade runs for a fixed term — usually five years. These are the colleges whose term is still running, and those whose term has run out.
Colleges whose accreditation is still current, ordered by NAAC grade and then by CGPA. This is NAAC's assessment, not a ShikshaSphere ranking — colleges are not scored.

The districts with the most institutions.
AISHE classifies every institution. A college teaches a university's degree; a standalone institution answers to a council and awards its own diploma.
Every state and union territory, with the number of institutions AISHE lists there.
Type, management, affiliation and year come from AISHE's register; every grade, CGPA and date from NAAC's. Where nobody has published a figure, we leave it blank rather than fill it in.
Rankings, accreditation, approvals and recognition come from official sources — look for the verified mark on each. Fees, placement figures and ratings are indicative where an institution publishes none.
